Final worksheet in this series of Problem-solving with time. This time we travel to the Aran islands. The challenge is to choose the correct bus to Galway city to be in plenty of time for the shuttle bus to Inis Mór. Mind-boggling and head wrecking for my poor class on the day before St. Patrick's weekend!

If you are from another part of the country you might like to look up your own local cinema. Unfortunately they don't seem to print the cinema listings like they used to but I think they're still available on the local newspapers. 
My class found this worksheet really difficult. There is a lot of adding and estimating and above all- logical thinking! Be ready for the child who is going to the film at 6pm and returning home on the 6.05pm bus! 

Here is a time problem solving worksheet I did for 5th/6th class around my favourite theme of travel!
Pupils need to see real-life examples and travel, flights and holidays are great for practicing time problems. I searched a Ryanair flight and copied out the Bus Éireann timetables to the airport. The pupils also have to factor in the car journey time from their home to the bus stop. 
This worksheet could be used in any county in Ireland, you just need to copy out the relevant bus timetables. 
The timetables can be kept by the pupils for further worksheets. I will post the next worksheet tomorrow!
